New signage

It’s great to see all the new signs popping up around the Gardens, a project organised by our wonderful Education and Engagement Officer Laura Alston.

This photo shows a special sign for the Friends being installed. It explains the benches we commissioned last year, which were inspired by an 1840 image of a bench in the Gardens. One of the pair is in commemoration of our former chair Jill Thompson, and the other is a celebration of Robert Marnock, designer and first curator of the Gardens, who was in charge at the time the original bench was in use.
