Russ Thomas ‘The Body in the Gardens’ live lecture

Join us for an evening with bestselling Sheffield-based crime writer Russ Thomas. Russ will be talking about his long journey from hobbyist writer to Times bestseller, his three Sheffield-based crime thrillers, and why he just loves burying bodies around the city (including the Botanical Gardens!).

Russ was born and raised in the south but moved to Sheffield in 1995. After a series of 'proper' jobs (among them: pot-washer, optician's receptionist, supermarket warehouse operative, call-centre telephonist, and storage salesman) he settled into a long career in bookselling.

His debut crime thriller Firewatching was released in 2020 to high acclaim. The follow-up, Nighthawking, was set in and around our very own Botanical Gardens and was selected by the Sunday Times as their Book of the Month. The third book in the DS Adam Tyler series, Cold Reckoning is set to be released in May 2022.

It promises to be an interesting evening with a chance to meet the author, ask questions, and signed copies of his books will be available to buy on the evening.
