Celebrating Marnock Weekend

The Gardens have partnered with the Gardens Trust to organise a national celebration of Robert Marnock (1800-1889), the designer of the Botanical Gardens and our first curator. There are events over the summer around the country, with all sorts of activities in Sheffield in June.

The middle weekend in June will see talks, walks, workshops, displays, exhibitions and even a Pocket Pollen market in the Gardens. See the Celebrating Marnock site for details of the weekend, and all the other Marnock activities taking place in Sheffield and elsewhere.

The frontispiece from Marnock’s Floricultural Magazine. All the original editions of the magazine will be on display during June in the Education Centre.
