AGM with Laura Alston ‘The botanical gardens education and ENGAGEMENT project’ live lecture

The Friends’ AGM will commence at 10.00am in the Dorothy Fox Centre in the Botanical Gardens and is open to all members. Laura Alston will deliver her talk following the formal part of the meeting.

Dr Laura Alston, Education and Engagement Officer at the Botanical Gardens will give an overview of the National Lottery Heritage Project so far and what we want to achieve for Sheffield Botanical Gardens in the future.

Laura is a heritage professional living and working in Sheffield; for the past nine years she has worked in public history, education and community heritage projects all over Sheffield and Derbyshire and for a range of different sites such as Museums, Cemeteries and Cathedrals.

Whilst undertaking these roles, Laura studied part-time for a PhD in History at the University of Sheffield and prior to her current role she was Activity and Engagement Officer on the National Lottery Heritage Funded ‘Parks for People’ Project at Sheffield General Cemetery.
